Armed Forces Memorial Arboretum

An unexpected gem, with lots to see from memorials and gardens to sculptures and a Stick Man Trail – perfect for the younger generation.

The place is huge with lots of memorial sculptures, gardens and statues to see and read about. The Stick Man Trail involves finding the characters from the book hidden along a route. Once found, you can collect a crayon rubbing related to each character.

We had lunch near the Childrens’ memorial before attempting to cover the rest of the gardens. When producing our collected rubbings, we were awarded with Stick Man stickers – a fine prize for a job well done.
