Walk to the Park & a Ride on the Train
After a picnic with a view of the sea, we walked to Peasholm Park following the path of the disused chairlift.
The chair life hasn’t been in use since 2002, but the pylons still mark the route over the hill, terminating at the old station by the main road. It was fascinating to discover and open to the public. Such massive machinery left to rot.
The train ride took us back to the Sea Life Centre and the car park via woodland and sea front.
Check out the Scarborough North Bay Railway website for more info on that, and the Stories from Scarborough and Derelict Places websites for more info on the old chairlift.
