Mossley Old Hall & Gardens
On our way to Dorset we stopped at Mossley Old Hall to wander the grounds & climb the tree house before having a quick tour of the house…
It’s an Elizabethan farmhouse steeped in history, including harbouring King Charles II while he hid from Cromwell’s troops after fleeing the Battle of Worcester in 1651. There are a few secret tunnels here & there for the priest to make a getaway if the authorities turned up – exciting!
Picnic with the resident peacock before moving on.
